Installation Procedure for a Vacuum Tube Furnace

A vacuum tube furnace is widely used in laboratories, industrial production, and research institutions for material heat treatment processes such as elemental analysis, sintering, annealing, quenching, tempering, and the thermal processing of advanced materials, including electronic ceramics.
1) Preparations Before Installation
a) Before starting the installation, carefully read the operation and installation manual supplied with the furnace. Make sure the work area is clean, well-lit, and free of dust or debris.
b) All furnace components, especially sealing parts, should be inspected and cleaned before assembly.
c) Handle the quartz tube with extreme care. Quartz is fragile and must not be scratched, impacted, or subjected to uneven stress during installation.
2) Assembly Sequence of the Quartz Tube Sealing Structure
a) Insert the outer pressure ring (Ring 1) into the end of the quartz tube.
b) Install the first silicone rubber O-ring onto the quartz tube.
c) Insert the inner pressure ring.
d) Install the second silicone rubber O-ring.
e) Adjust both O-rings to their proper positions.
f) Install the outer pressure ring (Ring 2).
Note: During adjustment, ensure that the end of the quartz tube does not directly contact the outer pressure ring. A clearance of approximately 2 mm should be maintained to allow for thermal expansion and to avoid mechanical stress on the quartz tube.
3) Fastening and Final Adjustment
Use an internal hex wrench to tighten the M5 × 30 internal hex screws.
First, align the markings on the components, and make sure all screws are correctly positioned in their threaded holes. Tighten each screw gradually and evenly. Then, rotate each screw by approximately 90 degrees at a time, then move to the next screw. Repeat the process in a circular sequence until all screws are fully tightened.
Do not fully tighten one screw before tightening the others.
All screws must be tightened simultaneously and uniformly to ensure even pressure distribution and to prevent air leakage or damage to the sealing structure.
4) Final Inspection
After installation:
a) Confirm that the quartz tube is properly centered.
b) Ensure that all sealing components are correctly positioned.
c) Check that there is no visible deformation of the O-rings.
d) Verify smooth assembly without resistance or misalignment.
A correctly installed vacuum tube furnace will provide stable vacuum performance, reliable temperature control, and long-term operational safety.
